In person registration: Opens January 5th, 2026. All in-person registration done at the Lowndes County Recreation Office at 560 Lehmberg Road. Payments in Cash Only. 

Age Group Cut-Off Dates for Baseball is April 30, 2026 and for Softball is January 1, 2026.

Registration Costs

  • Wee-Ball (Teams are co-ed, ages 3 to 4): $50
  • T-Ball (Teams are co-ed, ages 5 to 6): $65
  • Coach Pitch (Softball and Baseball, ages 8 and Under): $65
  • Kid Pitch 10U and 12U for Baseball and for Softball (ages are 10 and Under, ad): $65
  • Sponsor a team: $300
  • Players are responsible for providing their own personal baseball/softball gear. 
    • 1 Set of Catcher's Gear may be provided to each team upon Coach's request.

Practice Policies

Metal cleats are not allowed on the fields at BFY. Players with metal cleats will not be allowed on the field.

The following are forbidden on the fields at BFY:

  • Gum
  • Sunflower seeds
  • Tobacco of any kind
  • Candy
  • Drinks other than water

Draft

There is no draft for Wee-Ball or T-ball. Teams will automatically have the players of the coach, assistant coach, and sponsor placed on the team. Any special requests will then be considered. All other roster spots will be at random. No more than 12 per roster unless numbers mandate it.

The draft for older age groups was modified in 2024 to be in line with other park/recreational programs. Teams will automatically have the players of the coach, assistant coach, and sponsor placed on the team-3 max. They will then have an additional "freeze" player. This will result in each team with 4 players automatically placed on their rosters. All other players will be drafted by the coaches. At the conclusion of the draft all rosters will be final. A copy of each roster will be turned into the Operations Coordinator and Event Management person, Dawson Archer. No changes can be made after this time. No more than 12 players per roster unless numbers mandate it.

Please note: LCR cannot take special requests via phone, text, or email. All requests must be made in writing on the registration form.

Rules

Unless modified by local rules baseball and softball will follow Dizzy Dean.

Batting: All players present will bat.

Eligibility

  • To be selected, a player must live within Lowndes County
  • Any player selected for All-Stars will be required to submit a birth certificate prior to participating in the tournament:
    • Age cutoff dates: Baseball – April 30, 2026; Softball – January 1, 2026.
    • A copy of the player's Birth Certificate must be submitted to the Head All Star Coach.  
  • All Star Opportunities are Available for the Following Age Groups 
    • 8U, 10U, 12U Baseball
    • 8U, 10U, 12U Softball

Team Selection

The coach of the team that finishes in first place in the league will have the option to serve as the head coach of the all-star team. If they decline or are not available it will be offered to the head coach of the second-place team, and so on. The head coach of the all star team will select their staff.

The all-star roster will be capped at 12 (unless extenuating circumstances require additional roster spaces). Teams will nominate a number of players for the all-star roster based on their finish in the league and total number of teams in the league. A recommended example is provided below for an age group with 4 teams in their division. Any additional spots up to 12 will be "at large" players that can come from any team.

  • 1st Place: 4 players
  • 2nd Place: 3 players
  • 3rd Place: 2 players
  • 4th Place: 1 player
  • At-Large Players: 2 players

Refund Policy


LCR is only able to refund the core registration cost of the participant.

  • For Wee Ball, the maximum refundable amount is $50.
  • For All Other Divisions, the maximum refundable amount is $65.

The external credit card processing fee collected at the time of registration is non-refundable.

No refunds will be available once official team rosters have been formed.
